About
We are not the oldest shop in town and we are not the newest. What we are is the one where the person who arranges your flowers is the one who takes your order.
Marianne started selling wrapped bunches at the downtown farmers market in 2009, mostly to get rid of the surplus from a garden that had gotten out of hand. Two years later the shop two doors down from the bookshop came up for lease, and she took it before thinking too hard about it.
The front room is the cooler and the counter. The back room is the worktable, a sink that never drains fast enough, and a wall of ribbon organized by color because Theo insists on it. That is the whole operation.
Theo joined in 2016 after a decade in restaurant kitchens, which is where the habit of buying from named growers came from. Most of what we sell is cut within a day of arriving, and we can usually tell you the farm it came from without looking it up.
